Do you want to trust?

Tbh I'm at a point where I'll trust a person and keep one hand at the door to be ready to leave. I'm scared of being hurt again. I'm scared of having my heart torn again. I know everyone wants me to believe them but I'll only let them know I believe to an extent.

I'll be anyone's friend, but I'm terrible at initiating conversation. I'm not witty or very funny so I have one friend in life right now. Plenty of acquaintances though. I want to trust that if I'm good to ppl in turn they'll be good to me. I have been disappointed before by friends, and swore each time I'd never trust again. But that's just the way ppl are. Some will betray you and some will stay true as a friend or more. I haven't been in many relationships with anyone so I can't really talk about that.
