Do you want to trust?

Tbh I'm at a point where I'll trust a person and keep one hand at the door to be ready to leave. I'm scared of being hurt again. I'm scared of having my heart torn again. I know everyone wants me to believe them but I'll only let them know I believe to an extent.

Life without trust though can be really closed.
I am ready to trust, but I would like that trust to build slowly and organically.
I am also aware I might get hurt but I am stronger than I was and won't make the same mistakes again. So maybe I am open to learning new mistakes if that is the case. But I choose to live with an open heart.
