Exactly, unfortunately this seems to the norm no matter you go.
Politicians are in it for a reason and that reason goes out of the window once the leader or some leaders of the party decide to do something and if you do not agree on the moral grounds, you get kicked out.
I once asked a politician to pass a law for "politicians" to be fired from their position for breaking the promises made during campaign, he looked at me like I came from another world.
