Risk is part of life, letting your past experiences force you into a corner keeps you from moving through them and grieving however you need to.

@Feverdreamer44 how is it not? I understand there's neurochemistry to overcome, and the aftereffects of trauma aren't easy to compensate for, but just because it's hard doesn't mean it's more complicated than other psychological obstacles
