Happy International Women's Day folks.

May I ask why we need celebration? Like lgbt parade's month, black history month, International Men's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc..

I like the celebration but somehow I feel being patronised like my sex/gender is weak that need to be celebrated like after those gender equality backlashed, I don't know why but I feel like insulted.

It is for all of the women today who's still less worthy in the eyes of others, because they are women. And it's a reminder about equality, that women should have the same respect as anyone else. It's a celebration for how feminism made women stop be forced to wear skirts and heels to work, it's a celebration in the fight we have upon the world, that we are not gonna settle for less.
