Happy International Women's Day folks.

May I ask why we need celebration? Like lgbt parade's month, black history month, International Men's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc..

I like the celebration but somehow I feel being patronised like my sex/gender is weak that need to be celebrated like after those gender equality backlashed, I don't know why but I feel like insulted.

It's for the ones who need it, to this day thousands of women are still fighting for their emancipation, they can't get education, can't have the same rights as their male counterparts, are victims of domestic, sexual abuse, femicide, genital mutilation etc. I've never felt like someone called me weak just because they recognize that our gender has been subject to sexism & the patriarchy throughout the centuries and it's a good day to honour and remember the women who fought and are still fighting for the day when we won't need a "women's day".
