I Hate Gender Stereotypes

An 11 year old was asking me all these questions about my life. And she got around to asking me if i wanted children. I said no and then she procedes to say. "So you're going to be a lonely cat lady that lives in an apartment" who is teaching her this nonsense. Its so sad what crap society instills in our girls. You can be whatever you want dont let social constructs control you.

It's also possible that she got it from the TV, or from school. My 10-year old daughter repeats a lot of the things she learned from school to me. I'd always be impressed, amused, or stricken with horror. lol

I get what you're saying about how that's a stereotype. Women shouldn't be learning that at 11 years old, they should learn they have other options, just like how being married is an option but it's not the "ONLY" option.

However being a crazy cat lover myself, I would have responded something like:

"Yeah but cats make better roommates anyways TBH" 🤔
