The interesting differences!
To begin with, yes, Edoardo is a man and I am a woman, so he has the key to my happiness, in part, and I to his! He is a Neapolitan and I am a Sicilian, both south Italians. He understands the Sicilian dialect changes that I use when we argue.
I’m descended of a Norman knight, a Berber marauder, a Catalan adventurer and a Sicilian resister, he is descended of a Langobard knight, a Roman senator, and an Egyptian beauty. We are pretty much a mongrel couple, as most of Europeans seem to be (but not as much as the Americans in mongrel-ness).
Our gene pool is diverse, but Italian, so any child we might have (God willing) will be very much of a certain set of traditions crowned by being very much Roman Catholic. The prospects are very inspiring, and I am very excited for the future, now that we are not using contraceptive practice.
