What's a sign someone definitely wasn't raised right?

Everyone knows that mashed potatoes are first scooped onto a knife, then the knife is dipped into a bowl of peas which of course stick to the potatoes, at which point the potatoes and peas are eaten from the knife simultaneously. Everyone who is more refined already knows all that dining protocol stuff.

@Pretzel In some places they actually do eat food with similar consistency to mashed potatoes, with their fingers, and it's part of the culture and perfectly natural.

@swirlie that's what I'm SCREAMING - if they do what I said you KNOW they went to the wrong finishing school!

but not mashed potatoes in the United States

Well, the finishing school that I attended for 7 years definitely taught the use of a knife and how to eat tatters and peas with one hand and using just one utensil, just sayin'... 🤷🏼‍♀
