What are some things you would call "red flags" in a potential partner?

✌🏾💨🚗🚪🏃🏾🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
"Red flags" in a potential partner can vary depending on individual preferences and values, but some common ones to watch out for include:

Lack of communication or poor communication skills: Difficulty expressing feelings, avoiding important conversations, or frequent misunderstandings can indicate potential issues in the relationship.

Dishonesty or inconsistency: If your partner frequently lies or their actions don't match their words, it can erode trust and lead to larger problems down the line.

Controlling behavior: Attempts to dictate your actions, isolate you from friends and family, or exert undue influence over your decisions can be signs of an unhealthy dynamic.

Lack of respect: Disregarding your boundaries, belittling your opinions or accomplishments, or showing disrespect towards you or others may indicate a lack of respect in the relationship.

Unwillingness to take responsibility: Constantly blaming others, making excuses, or refusing to acknowledge their role in conflicts can signal a lack of accountability and maturity.

Patterns of instability or volatility: Frequent mood swings, extreme reactions to minor issues, or unpredictable behavior may indicate underlying emotional or mental health issues that need to be addressed.

Financial irresponsibility: If your partner consistently struggles with managing finances, accruing debt, or prioritizing short-term desires over long-term goals, it can create stress and strain on the relationship.

Lack of empathy or compassion: Inability or unwillingness to empathize with your feelings, needs, or struggles can make it difficult to build a healthy, supportive partnership.

It's important to remember that everyone has flaws and imperfections, but consistently encountering these red flags may suggest that the relationship could be unhealthy or unsustainable. Trust your instincts and prioritize your own well-being when evaluating potential partners.

Hmm I'm kind of sick of these terms being used. So I'll simplify it.

The things I don't like in a partner

Not listening and respecting my boundaries.

If ever that happens I will address it immediately but I'll be dammed if I become a parrot...
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl what's "sickening" about the term "red flag"?
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@iamnikki because it's like a trending term.

So many people use it like they fully understand it and they themselves are a walking red flag!
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl I didn't think it was a trending term. I'm not on social media, but ok.
eventtemple123 · 22-25, M
Lots of micro-arguments like "I really thought you said [blah blah blah]", and no matter how many times you say otherwise, they won't listen. It can be over something as simple as your favorite color, movie, meal, etc. This is an early warning sign of a narcissist.
deadteddy · 26-30, F
