Serious question.

Can someone tell me how algorithms work? Do they target my IP Address, or do they target me personally when I'm online. I understand the targeting by my IP Address, but how do they know it's me when I'm on my work computer?

It's almost always by account. So a youtube algorithm which decides which videos its going to show you is going to be "trained" by your account activity. Same deal with how SW determines its feed for you.

I don't see why someone would set someone up by IP address.
