Can someone tell me how algorithms work? Do they target my IP Address, or do they target me personally when I'm online. I understand the targeting by my IP Address, but how do they know it's me when I'm on my work computer?

so very simple. if on a work computer, all ip addresses are assigned to every computer, who ever is in charge can see everything done on every comp. so easy, your computer you use may be number 5. whatever, like, you didn;t know that, wow
No, what I mean is, my work computer isn't my personal computer, so if my personal IP Address isn't connected to the work computer, how do the same advertisers follow me around the internet when I'm not on my own personal computer or phone.
