Why Did You Join SW?

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Were you ever at EP ? I thought I knew you from there, but I was at R2T for awhile.

@bijouxbroussard I think you told me about Relate to That. I remember Relate to That getting down to the last few members. I enjoyed it though. I think they over policed it, from memory. It's a really difficult balance to get right. @TheSirfurryanimalWales I remember you and @Yulianna were very funny.

@Abstraction Yes, I told a few of my EP friends about R2T, which was founded by a couple of former EP members. It seemed very promising at first, but then it became very restrictive. It seemed like they targeted people, including a few who’d never had problems getting along with anyone on EP.

@bijouxbroussard they announced closure a couple of days after I joined!
We first met at R2T.

@Abstraction yes....I had an ignominious end there.And I was right on the offending matter too.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales I didn't know that! I can't imagine you doing anything requiring expulsion.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Neither can I. I saw it happen to a lot of really good people and I became disillusioned with the site. 🙁

@bijouxbroussard @Abstraction it was the fee.
When they introduced it Janet stated on open forum,in response to a reply I made on the subject,that existing members would never have to pay.
(DLRannie can confirm that).
Then she decided everyone would have to pay.
Myself and Annie challenged that.
Janet denied she had ever said that.
It led to me and Epimenedes having a falling out( the day I left I was a subject of a terrible post by Epi-accused of bullying the owners)and Janet was making snide remarks on my posts.
It was clear I was no longer wanted on R2T so I left-but they then officially banned me anyway.
And I was informed by Annie that Janet did find her statement.
But it was too late then.
I still think R2T was a prime example of what could have been a highly successful forum-but was sadly a prime example of how not to run one.
I recently left Buzz50 after one too many run ins with draconian moderation.
But I'm on several senior forums where the owners like me and moderation is never needed.
I even give Welsh lessons on one!

@TheSirfurryanimalWales I love that you give Welsh lessons. I'm on a Oil Painting forum. It's so civilised, friendly, trouble-free.
You aren't even remotely in a category where owners should have a problem with you.

@Abstraction I agree😀.
But over moderation I have trouble ignoring😅.
