Sobriety and my peers

Since I've been sober, 99% of friends and people I interact with are very supportive. There are a handful that insist on trying to get me to drink and get pretty shitty with me.

I've learned to brush it off.

Exactly and yep the same keeps happening to me. Someone even bought me wine the day after i told her i have an addiction 🙃

@Gangstress Exactly! It's almost a joke to those few people.

I'm sorry to hear of those that haven't been respectful and supportive of your efforts. Those don't really sound like friends. My wife fought this battle and it wasn't easy even with the support of friends and family. Thankfully she's been able to resist the temptations for over 13 years now.

Good luck to you and stay strong. Surround yourself with those that appreciate what you're doing.

@WindTherapy Thank you

They are not your real friends.
Spumoni · 46-50, M
@JimboSaturn Unfortunately, you're very right. I've had to cut ties with a couple of them already for not taking me seriously when I explain my situation.

@Spumoni I went about 20 years sober and at the beginning I had the same resistance.
I found it kinda insulting.

@JimboSaturn Exactly

They're just jealous because you're doing so well and they want to drag you down to where they are! Surround yourself with supportive, positive people! You're doing great 👏👏👏👍

I am glad you brush it off but I am still sorry people act that way.
