I'm not super concerned about any of this stuff, but still minorly irked.
I have a very strong fondness for the opposite sex which is part of why I sucked it up and watched barbie with mom for instance, tbh it's one of the few chick flicks I really had no interest in seeing.
I like romcoms so you know, usually I'm not only down for It but if you don't go with me, I'm going to watch even without you
I'm in love with love itself, but anyway it's not just video game companies like ubisoft it's happenning all over the place these days with these gigantic corporations like marvel somehow they live in this fantasy world in their heads where like we were their potential customers literally owe them going to see their movies no matter how shitty the reviews or how badly they bomb and how awful the trailers were like shehulk which was such a massive cringe fest, but they felt entitled to our views so when we didn't they all cried you filthy misogynist there are so many women in it, and it's like look l've been part of the feminism for long enough to defend myself from these allegations by pointing out that it would actually be benevolent sexism to simply go see it even though I felt you frankly had not earned my view or my money at that box office.
Like honestly ever since these gigantic studios started failing they all went to blame the not only like normally interested but skipped this one parties but anyone that was potentially even remotely intrigued but skipped the films
At some point the studios got it into their heads if they worked hard on it no matter how shitty the writing we owed them our visits to the theater which is frankly pathetic, As potential customers we owe them literary nothing but that won't stop them from shrieking like harpies as if we're a bunch of woman hating incels because we didn't cough up on their shitty script writing.
I don't piss and moan about woke, if anything my primary complaint is bad writing, but while we're on the topic i'm not really clear how Token representation does racial minorities any good when everyone knows they're only in the movie so the studio can avoid a lawsuit and serve no real purpose to the plot, which is poorly written.
Like black people deserve better representation in films than to be turned into some token black character who simply got inserted to shield the company from lawsuits instead of being made into interesting and intriguing parts of the cast like for example the way Star Trek utilized Whoopi Goldberg back in the day, non-insulting use of a black woman.
I don't really get it anymore really of course representation matters, but it matters even more that they be put into movies with good writing as characters that aren't just put there as a way to shield the show or movie.

These companies forgot the most important part of the deal. We, the buyers, hold all the power and even if you make a movie, if it's not one we want to see, well you're the one who fucked aroud, now you get to find out by losing money on it.
