Why does my mom always repeat the same old rants and stories ive heard before?

It's like yes we know already you told us last night. Yes we know you told us already a few hours ago.

I was making lunch and she asked what was in the oven i said nothing because i just turned it off and took the tator tots out. She was like oh yeah you made tots. No kidding i already told you what lunch was beforehand.
