Neighbor: Menas!!!! What did you do to my laptop!! 😠 I couldn’t find Microsoft word! Me: You didn’t ask me to install office? 😕 also why are you so mad at me? It’s not like you’re paying me anyway 😒 Neighbor: hahah sorry I’m not mad, I’m just kidding. Me: ok bring me the laptop, I’ll install Microsoft office. Me: *installs office*
Weeks later
Neighbor: Mena! Why is my laptop so slow? Me: it’s old HDD and only 4 GB RAM? What do you expect? Neighbor: what do you mean? Is there anyway to make it faster? Me: you’ll have to replace the HDD with an SSD, and preferably upgrade the RAM. * boring technical discussion continues and explains the cost and steps * Neighbor: oh but that’s too expensive for me. Me: ok then, I’m sorry there’s nothing I can do about that.
About a year later
He’s messaging me about how he screwed up the operating system and he’s demanding support. I don’t respond because I have no time for that but he messages me more and more

But yeah, sometime you just have to lie and say, nope, nothing I can do, you just need a new computer (like when they ask how to speed it up, etc). It speeds it up, instead of that long conversation.
He wants you to fix his computer for free cause he's too cheap to get it done. Unfortunately you helping him was your first mistake. 😕

Ugh just a simple YouTube video can show him how to do it and it's available in all languages. What a lazy bum. Just tell him you don't know how to help him or recommend him a shop or something. Installing a Windows at a shop can't be that expensive.
