I Need to Rant

Respect is not automatic, it is earned. I don't care if you are older than the other person, you can't just treat another person like crap and expect them to take it. I've been treated poorly by someone for a while and today I've just lost any respect I had for them. They don't even own up to the possibility of them being wrong. I've tried to reason with this person and they just do not want to listen and keep thinking they are right. They expect me to listen to them, and tell me to shut up when I try to clear up misunderstandings. They have the traditional mindset "I am older so you must respect me and sit and take any criticism I have" type of view. I have literally been told to shut up by this person when they have wrongly accused me of something and I was trying to clear the air so to speak.

This person is meant to be family, doesn't feel like it anymore. I am in lockdown with this person and I used to spend almost all of my free time in the library to get away from being at home. Home isn't home to me.

So why are you sticking around if you can get out,

@updown2020 I am a full time student working part time, I cant afford a flat at the moment and even if I could moving is prohibited right now.

I was planning to work more hours over summer to save up but my workplace is closed and wont reopen until further notice. The only option I have is moving in with my uncle but it's really far from my university so it is an absolute last resort if things get worse.

@updown2020 campus housing is more expensive than a flat 😅 none of my friends live on their own, they all live with family so theres nobody to move in with
