Only way to deal with it is to not deal with it. Pick your feet up and walk away. Stop feeding into them. Take the wind out of their sails and they have nothing they can do

@JohnTaylor yeah, the issue is not being able to move out and the fact I have exams coming up and I've barely even been able to study largely due to them but that's a whole other story 😅 I try to ignore them most of the time but when they get in the way of my future that's when it's too much for me

Good luck...I think you're going to need it

I’m very sorry that you’re experiencing that. Ordinarily I would say that everyone deserves respect and it shouldn’t have to be earned. But one continues to deserve respect by showing it to others and treating them with civility and consideration—not simply by getting older. 🙁

@bijouxbroussard Thank you and that is my point exactly! If we just respected everyone who is older than us we would be respecting a lot of nasty people in the world who do not deserve respect.

People like that who play the age card just to win every discussion need to be avoided at all costs... it's annoying though when you're stuck with them like with this lockdown.
MissMoon · 26-30, F
@SW-User Yup, I hate the age card. It isn't fair or justified, especially since age doesn't always define maturity.

@MissMoon Some people find it easier just to shut you down by saying they're your elder rather than debating or explaining why you're wrong or actually having to admit that they're wrong sometimes.

So why are you sticking around if you can get out,
MissMoon · 26-30, F
@updown2020 I am a full time student working part time, I cant afford a flat at the moment and even if I could moving is prohibited right now.
I was planning to work more hours over summer to save up but my workplace is closed and wont reopen until further notice. The only option I have is moving in with my uncle but it's really far from my university so it is an absolute last resort if things get worse.

@MissMoon Well how about on campus housing ? or a friend
MissMoon · 26-30, F
@updown2020 campus housing is more expensive than a flat 😅 none of my friends live on their own, they all live with family so theres nobody to move in with

I know how you feel :( it's very hard to tolerate such people!
MissMoon · 26-30, F
@SW-User I am sorry you can relate to this :(
