Really dude? You finding out I'm part Arab didn't erase 26 years of English speaking. Jeez people.. just... don't.

Are you then the one Arab they know and thus the Designated Explainer of All Which *IS* Arabic *and* Muslim to such persons?

I can imagine someone finding out and saying, "that's interesting; I am sure you get asked a lot about it, but I would love to know how much of your culture you kept alive in Britain, and what that part means to you, if you have a strong identification with it."

...and that's because I have heard, e.g., a Native American complaining about having to explain growing up Indian to too many Caucasians...

@SomeMichGuy I constantly am lol... and the hard part on the end of the "exotic" person explaining bits of their culture is always having to "read between the lines", "understand that the remark is coming from a place of curiosity".. it would be great if the other people also learned to phrase questions/remarks in a way that correctly puts that across.. oh well :)
