the only thing this leads to is people makign new accounts and putting an age of 30 there... not like anyone checks your age anyway.

Like it or not their are some things that adults discuss which one you shouldn't be reading anyway because you are under age. Also they may not want youngsters coming in that have no experience and can't really add anything to the discussion any way..
