@lipstickguy the way it runs is not straight forward.
The I-10 goes almost to the California Mexico border before going east.The I-15 and merging I-215 go east and west on the way to Nevada. Which the I-10 bisects both before the two merge.
Yet the I-10 meets up with the San Diego I-8 in Casa grande Arizona. Far South and east of LA.
The I-10 is the southern east route. The I-15 is the middle east route, even though it's below LA, on it's way to the I-80, which is above Sacramento, which goes the rest of the way east.
I have been through 40 states more than once.
Nothing goes DIRECTLY east to west or north to south. Even I-35 goes diagonally.
