How do i start a conversation online with my old friend?

-we haven't talk for a really long time
-i don't have any good stories to tell her
-if i ask her how she's doing, she's probably just gonna reply with "okay"
-i really miss her.

I think sometimes you have to sort of warm up again. Like when you exercise. Just idle chat back and forth for a few min until your feelings towards each other have woken up again. Then it'll be just like before!
