I Think Manners Are Important

Manners matter, and they are not optional. So don't forget to say "please" and "thank you" and "miss" and "ma'am" and "sir". Smile and be polite. It will make your day better - and that of everyone you meet.

Our generation were raised to speak in a way that recognised the authority of adults. That's what a lot of "good manners" are and its a great shame its been lost in the pursuit of equality.

@recipeforhappiness We were raised that way, yes. Many children today are not that lucky - and is it their fault? Respect is always earned, not given. And many parents and teachers these days simply do nothing to deserve respect. They reap what they sow.

As a teacher and a father I live to be a positive example for children. I practise what I preach. I earn their respect every single day, by being a good father and teacher.

@Uncle @recipeforhappiness some kids are raised that way still . . . whether they want to be or not

@GirlSerendipity Why would you not want to have a good and proper upbringing, I wonder?
