A Message For The Woman Still Standing In The Dark

To the woman who has been walking through shadows so heavy they feel stitched to her skin... To the woman whose relationship or marriage has drained the color from her days and the strength from her voice. To the woman who learned to survive on silence, on sacrifice, she's "fine" when she is anything but you. You may feel like the version of you that once laughed freely has been buried under years of hurt, fear or disappointment. You may wonder if there is anything left of the woman you used to be. But hear this clearly: There is still light in you There is still power in you There is still a future with your name on it. You are not broken-you are bruised, yes, but bruises fade. You are tired, yes, but exhaustion does not erase worth. You are hurting, yes, but pain does not cancel worth. You have survived every single dark day that tried to swallow you whole. That alone makes you extraordinary. Because a woman who finds her way out of the dark... is a woman who shines brighter than she ever has before.

Did you write that? Here's the way women were conditioned back in the 60s and 70s: Everything was always "okay." God forbid we would admit we had a bad day. 😂 Our hair could be on fire but hey, we were still "okay." 😂
