Fighting for Light

I have seen depravity
Absent of any real light
A death cold hand, evil
Yet, still I fight

I was taught to surrender
A rag doll thrown away
No one tried to mend her
The girl with nothing to say

I have lived in darkness
I have witnessed hate
Living less than worthless
Resigned to my own fate

Yes, I have seen real depravirty
But I'm refusing to surrender
I will not live in darkness
I'll mend myself and fight
