how should you respond to a man who's abrupt and 'to the point'

[c=BF0080][i]the owner of the computer shop i go to whenever i want my computer fixed or ugraded is very much like this, he is called 'nick' but whenever i try to talk to him in the past about my computer, he is 'to the point' and quite abrupt...has no bedside manner about him....its off putting because i need my computer upgraded soon and i have social anxiety and are socially awkward and wonder how i will put it to nick when i phone him about it?
