Churches should be taxed. Especially those mega churches.
@Crazywaterspring Churches especially the Evangelical Church have turned into tax free voting blocks. These Churches are so intertwined with Republican Politics that when Church leaders are not preaching pro Republican veiw points they let Republicans use the pulpit themselves. They need to be taxed.
@Crazywaterspring I agree with that idea. I know some take the idea, they are already are contributing to society, I give that argument, but does that mean they can not contribute more? Those dollars to municipal governments that offer services many need would just offer a little more
@Crazywaterspring I totally agree, especially the ones who venture into the political arena.
@bijouxbroussard Churches seem to have less influence in Canada upon society politically. So I'm not sure it should matter myself, but if they are using their influence to try influence politics I can understand why you would say that.
@thewindupbirdchronicles In the U.S. there are religious organizations that would turn our country into a theocracy if they could, especially in the South. They’ve been largely responsible for laws attempting to block marriage equality, and most recently, interference in women’s reproductive rights. I think if they plan to legally interfere with the lives even of those who don’t belong to their faiths, they should pay their own taxes like every other organization.
@Crazywaterspring So many Christians claim "God hates fags" so much for tolerance, Agape love and empathy. While I'm an atheist, my best friend is a Cristian and does truly have Agape love. She also has the same moral ethics as I have.
@Crazywaterspring In Australia they already are taxing Jehovah's Witnesses because of child abuse. Other countries should follow suit.
@bijouxbroussard That does exist here. Canada might have better separation of State and religion; secularism than the US has going on? I really don't know. Upon politics in Canada, there is of course social conservatives, often religious, who want to make their mark on politics but they seem to have influence on only one party in Canada's political system.
