Do you think that being too intelligent can be a curse too?

Intelligence can be dangerous. See the number of the current administrations advisors.

Enough said.

@DeWayfarer Who says they are intelligent?
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Zeusdelight You don't get to certain positions "in numbers" without most being intelligent.

Oh sure there are some flunkies in there. Yet the shear numbers speak for themselves. To get those positions to begin with requires a certain amount of intelligence.

A national security advisor would be ineffective if they where not intelligent to some degree. Yet dangerous when they finally figure out for certain other things.

Problems arise when too many questions are ask. So what do you do? You get rid of them. Do it many times, then it becomes self evident the problem isn't the advisors though! QED

@DeWayfarer There is a certain level of intelligence needed but not the top echelon of intelligence. They can and do make much more money than any advisor. An advisor with political skills does have not top level intelligence if they have chosen that role. A personal assistant or secretary gets more helpful information.

@Zeusdelight there is money as a motivation and there is power as a motivation. And even a few a certain sense of duty.

I don't question the motivation. Money isn't everything as some might believe.

Motivation has little to do with intelligence.

@DeWayfarer In Politics power is the ultimate motivation then money comes later. Power relies on closeness to the Politician

@Zeusdelight again I don't question the motivation. Motivation is not intelligence.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer No, but aligning your motivation with what you seek is an indication of intelligence.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Zeusdelight as well as your values! And all three is the key! Without values there becomes a serious problem. As well as a motivation to remove others that are "perceived" as a threat.

@DeWayfarer I have met many on those positions who do not display values or morals and have no concern about alignment:)
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Zeusdelight I have met many that are a problem! 🤷‍♂️

@DeWayfarer Yes, unfortunately
