Uk has free healthcare

@Jane90 No it doesn't. It is paid for by everyone who pays tax. It's free at the point of delivery.

@Jane90 a colleague at the university lived in the UK until recently and said the wait times for appointments was horrible and the Care was rushed. I don’t know if things have improved in the last year, but she couldn’t wait to get over here where you can make an appointment with a doctor and generally get in within a week or two.

@joe438 It is an issue if you have a non-urgent condition. I assume, though, you have to pay (through insurance or directly) at the point of delivery for your appointment in the US. Can everyone access medical care easily if they have limited financial resources?

@Jane90 I think you need a doctor. You seem to be vomiting a lot.

@FreddieUK supposedly, anyone with an emergency can walk into a hospital and get treated. If they can’t pay snd don’t have insurance they can’t be denied. Having to absorb these patients financially is one of the factors that makes the hospitals so expensive.

@joe438 Thanks for that clarification. Always good to have the facts.
