Please say a prayer for Joanie.

Joanie is my daughter's mother-in-law, the sweetest person in the whole world, and so loved by all. She's very old. Always happy, always smiling, always joking, just the most precious person ever, but she has Alzheimer's and she's in hospice right now. She fell and broke her hip, but they're not going to operate, because they know she'll go anytime. But here she is lingering on, filled with morphine and just laying there waiting to die. I cannot stop crying at her fate. This is not right, I don't care who you are. When a person is terminally ill, they should not be made to suffer every minute until the end. That's just not right. They have mercy on animals, when they get hurt or they are dying, yet they can't help human beings out and give them a couple pills, so they can go peacefully in their sleep? It's just not right. They are more humane to animals, than they are human beings. We just want her to go and be out of her misery, but she just keeps lingering on for months. This seems so inhumane to me, when you know a person can never get well. You can't even recognize her hardly, she's just so bony now and it's hard to watch her suffer. I pray the Lord will take her soon. And I hope you'll pray for Joanie, too. Thank you.

My mother fell over and broke her leg near her hip.. They operated on her and replaced the ball with an artificial one.. Her wound got infected and it was resistant to all the drugs they used to combat it... Eventually she was on morphine in hospital in palliative care.. And yeah they kept on increasing the dose to keep her out of pain.. Eventually in these cases the morphine reaches the levels of overdose and the person dies.. It's one of those things in life you cannot control.. An accident an operation an infection and within a few weeks death... No one can live forever.. Not in this world not in these bodies..

And yes prayers for you and prayers for her and for all that love her.. 💛
@Adstar yes this is life. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother.
