Be honest, would you date someone with Autism?

I’ve been unlucky finding love and I’ve been dumped for being autistic and been cheated on. I told them because they asked me what is something about me they don’t know and I was honest and straightforward m. I did explain autism but afterwards they started to part away from me and stopped contacting me. Dates are a failure but I didn’t tell them I’m autistic unless they ask. I’m done dating and I’ll never find love.

Oh fuck dont ask me. I dont want to offend any pussies here. Honestly i wouldn't date anyone. And if i ever said i would i was lying.

@LookingForTheSummer @ElizabethBabe1994 i wonder fucking why? It seems everyone is allowed to voice their opinion here or blow smoke up peoples ass. I answer something honestly and everyone loses their God damned minds.

@SW-User okay, calm down. This is the internet. Don't take it too seriously. :)

High functioning, yes.. autism is a very broad spectrum affliction.
Many with autism can function reasonably well in society, hold jobs and degrees..

In more severe cases though it wouldn't be possible.. it would feel abusive and wrong as if i were taking advantage of them..

I think if you have a disability it’s extremely important to only date people who are highly empathetic and flexible. Even better if they’ve had people in their life with a disability. Many people don’t understand the wide range of autism and how many people wouldn’t want to be in a relationship that they consider inconvenient. That doesn’t mean that people aren’t out there though. One of the major things though is focusing on developing yourself and your own life 1.) for your own self-esteem, so you can feel good about who you are and what you have going on that gives you a feeling of general happiness and meaningful 2.) non-disabled people will see beyond your disability more if you have your act together

Don't give up.

Also? Don't label yourself. You may be classified by others as autistic but that doesn't mean you need to label yourself that way. I honestly believe we are all beautiful and unique. Just because the way your brain works has been defined doesn't mean that is who you are.

Don't get down on yourself for losing shallow people either, they are a waste of time and I would be proud of not wasting your time on them any longer. You will find someone who isn't concerned about your labels and loves you for your quirks and the way you make them feel.

HELL NO! To put it bluntly, I would not in a million years. I wouldn’t date an autistic man even if he is the last man on earth!I don’t wanna deal with their behavior problems. Plus they’re ugly. No offense.

Tbh.... I'm not sure. I haven't before but the opportunity has never presented itself. I can't say I wouldn't. If there was an attraction, I don't think I could say no without seeing where it would lead like any other relationship. So I guess my answer would be yes. Like any other relationship, it would have to be seen how compatible we were.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Yes i would.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@Eddiesolds At least someone isn’t shallow
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M

Manfredthemanic · 16-17, M
Yes. I'm on the spectrum.
SW-User
My bf is on the spectrum.
Andromedanian · 22-25, M
Yeah, I guess it depends, some peopem with autism I've noticed zero difference from anyone else, guess it depends how well they manage it and if overall we make a good couple.
SW-User
That’s kinda hard .. doesn’t Autism involve not being able to communicate properly
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@SW-User Well, it depends on the individual. Not everyone with autism is the same. Some are well spoken, some speak a little and some don’t talk at all. I am very verbal and can hold a conversation.
Strongtea · 22-25, M
I probably wouldn’t.
Strongtea · 22-25, M
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
