I'll be honest.
I'm against abortion for religious and philosophical reasons.
Which means I'm against the causes of abortion-- which isn't a woman's right to choose.
The rate of abortion per capita is lower today decades after Roe V. Wade than it was the year before. That's a statistically demonstrable fact.
Roe V. Wade didn't "start" abortions. It ended dangerous, degrading, backroom abortions.
The disempowerment of women ultimately leads to abortion.
I know this because in a different life I was friends with OB-GYN providers. MD's, RN's, LPN's. Who provided OB-GYN care which included first-trimester abortion.
From what they report, sure, there were privileged women who could afford the 100$'s to use abortion as contraception, or a solution to sloppy contraception. But the fast majority were facing horrible fucking situations.
I also figure I have a voice when I can lose my life from preeclampsia. Or from bleeding out delivering. Or from slashing my wrists from postpartum depression. Or from having my head bashed in when my abusive partner is sick of a newborn screaming.
I'm a anti-abortion person who is pro-choice because that is the logical outcome of my values. Vehemently so.
