For everyone who is a carer 👏👏👏❤️

I did this taking care of my mother in her last 6 years. In the beginning it was fairly easy. The last 3 years it got a lot tougher as time went on but I know others had a much harder time than I. This is a nice sign. Is this sign in a care facility around your area? Are you a Carer?
The most common term here is caregiver. I tend to like Carer better.

@Elisbch No, I'm not a carer but I've known people who cared for a spouse 24/7. One lady looked after her husband and she had no time to herself apart from 2 hrs every Tuesday when she went to a Carers' support group meeting. She had to pay someone to sit with her husband while she was out at the meeting.

@Fluffybull .. it's not easy. One just does it because they love someone I guess. I figured that since my mom spent all those years raising me, doing something like that for her and keeping her out of a nursing home for her last years and days was the least I could do.
I never went to any support groups.
i would do it all over again if needed. If i had a wife i loved and she needed it, I'd be there.
We tried hiring people to help out looking after her but one of them stole some nice jewelry from her once and I/we decided that that's never going to happen again. Those services are terribly expensive anyway.
The girl that stole went to jail for a year and had to pay restitution in cash. Luckily my mom was able to get all her jewelry back because the girl had taken it to a pawn shop and all the pawn shops here have to register stuff with the police in case it's stolen and they're not aware of it being stolen.
