Would you support universal basic income for women only?

I hear alot of worrying about couples not wanting to start a family because of financial stress.
I figure cutting women (and women only) a check every month would solve that. It'd also give them an option to stay home if they want.

Thoughts?

no. they need to make daycare more accessible so mothers can work. The majority of the reason mothers can't work or better their life is because they can't afford $800 daycare a month on a ten-dollar-an-hour salary

@DeluxedEdition That's another reason why everyone should get UBI. Married couples would have more money overall.

@DeluxedEdition personally I think giving women a 800 dollar check is better than an 800 dollar voucher for day care but that’s just me

@DeluxedEdition i tend to prefer cash over gift cards. But again. That’s just me

@NoahB you give them the ability to better their lives by being able to put their kids in daycare so they can go to work and make $1200 or $1500 a month or more or even go to school and get an education.

$800 pays a couple of bills then there are still bills to pay and mom has no choice of trying to better her life for her and her kids

@DeluxedEdition i just feel like you’re bargaining down at this point.
@DeluxedEdition I applaud your answer, DE. So many single women manage their children in a poverty cycle. They cannot upgrade their education. They cannot afford daycare. Their jobs often end up paying a minimum wage which is not a living wage. They have no benefits so they cannot afford meds for themselves or their children. Men can complain about paying child support but these same men are not living in poverty. It is sad lives these women lead. Desperation and worry and stresses shorten their lifespans. And their children pay the price too.
