I Like to Help People [Helping Others]

Okay, so I bought a chest freezer and very quickly realized, I'm too old and too short to manage to reach down to the stuff on the bottom. You know, youve seen those freezers, where they are such a jumbled mess?
Well, mine was quickly becoming just such a mess. I can't afford to have food sitting in the bottom of the freezer getting freezer burn. And being short, I realized I had a problem, and sought a solution. I found one.

I have three cats and go through a lot of kitty litter. I've been using the empty bins to store things. Seasonal clothes, spare bedding, toys for the great grandkids when they visit, etc. When a bin is empty, a good wash with hot soapy water turns it into a handy, easily handled storage bin.

I had tried baskets, but without lids, they were impractical, because not all things are packaged in neat flat packages so the baskets don't sit level on top of each other. Most baskets don't have handles for lifting them, and most importantly, no lids.

The bins have handles, and lids. I emptied six of mine and wrote on the lids, what type of food was going to be stored in each. Frozen veg, in one; cooked frozen meats in another; and so on.

Now, when I want to get something out of the freezer, I know exactly which bin to look in, and if it is one of the bottom layer, well....i grab the handle of the top bin and move it aside, then I pull out the bin I need take out what I want and drop both bins back into place.

Everything has a place and there is no danger of me landing, upside down in the deep freeze, with my feet kicking and my mouth screaming.
