I Enjoy Helping Others

"The greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion. The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being." — Tenzin Gyatso

I just looked him up, he is the 14th Dalai Lama and was still alive at the time of the wiki entry.
I found the quote interesting because Jesus and His apostles taught much the same using different words.

I thought the name was familiar, I like the philosophy of Buddhism, its all about compassion for others as well as yourself, and that's what Jesus taught,
I like to think sages come to us throughout history to show us there's a different way.

I admire Buddhists but I am a fanatical bible student and hardcore believer (even if or particularly because) I will correct any pastor who strays from the bible to add something or who takes away from the bible. I only preach at misled Christians and when I offer advice to non-believers I try to phrase it like your quote above. That way if they ask me where I got my insight they have invited me to preach and if not, they still have good advice.
