I Enjoy Helping Others
I Want to Make a Difference In the World
My wife and I try to make a difference, especially around the holidays, I have a soft spot for children who by no fault of their own, live with a parent or parents that are working poor, trying to provide for their families working usually 2, 3 or more part time jobs just to try to make ends meet but by no fault of their own, fall short and end up many times having to choose between eating and staying warm, and now, especially around the holidays, Christmas has little to no chance of happening for these families, this past Saturday and well for the last 2 years, my wife and I have donated toys, clothes, toiletries, items for dental and general hygiene, grocery store gift cards and even money, we donate to our local Salvation Army and they get to families who really need them, it gives us a good feeling inside knowing that some well deserving families will have a Merry Christmas, business owners need to pay their employees better than they do and our Gov't officials at the state and federal level need to raise the minimum wage so the working poor can just work one good paying job instead of several, but many of these employers are just concerned about their bottom line and to hell with their workers who are lucky to have mac and cheese maybe twice a week and bread and butter as a meal the other days, and cold tap water out of the sink instead of milk and real juice for their children to drink, if you can, help in your community at any local charity organization, even if it's 25 cents in the red kettle with a bell ringer standing at a Salvation Army kettle outside of a retail store, you'd be surprised how good it makes you feel, there is a child out there that would hug you if he or she got a nice dinner with meat, potatoes and vegtables and a glass of milk in a nice warm apartment, so be a Santa Clause and be as generous as you can in this season of giving, God Bless you.
