I Love a Good Conversation

I had an interesting conversation with my roommate.

Basically I came to the statement that I don't disagree with animals who or raised for slaughter or to be test animals. Because as long as they are born and raised in that environment that's what they know.
It's not like they take people's pets who know a different life.
And it's not like I've seen people volunteer to be a test subject.
How else are we supposed to know how things work? We can't test on plants the biology is different.
And it's not abuse. It's not like they are getting beat up or neglected.
I personally believe that the general public believes that animals are like people. And they somewhat are. They do sense fear and death and they do feel pain and happiness. However if an animal is born and raised in a lab it's not going to know any other life. It's going to live as normal as it can and won't question what's going on. If someone's pet was taken in then yeah then that would be a problem.

Idk just how I feel.

Some medicine requires testing... That's understood ... But I part company on done of your other thoughts ... Mainly the that's all they know and are bred for ... I think slave owners used similar arguments ... Not trying to be nasty but I didn't think it's a poor argument .. sorry
