Why do many of the young generation now communicate in a robotic way

I was in conversation about this the other day with someone who’s noticed the same thing, we were saying how a lot of these young people now seem to act, post & talk in a robotic way, not natural or fluidly, we were also saying something strange is happening & something ain’t right about this time we’re in..
