To be fair

I think the generation battles are stupid. Every generation has or will make their impact on society, regardless of what anyone else says. Some of those impacts will be horrible. Some will be moderate. Some will be amazing.

This is how it has always been. The older generations say "the kids have gotten worse" while complaining about the most popular forms of media dispersion and trying to claim they know what's best and need to be respected. You can find it in the historical records of Rome.

What I do find fascinating is that you can talk trash about nearly any generation and everyone just goes "meh". But the moment someone has the mortal audacity to make disparities against the sacred Boomer generation, suddenly, the amazingly similar "not all men" crowd comes to defend their generation.

We all know not all Boomers. But, as we say in response to the "not all men" rebutal, "True, but even one is too many". There have been way too many boomers in power that have done some very horrendous things against humanity and society. Yes, there have been the opposing sides, like all things that effect people negatively, but no boomer in power ever stopped and asked themselves, "Does this benefit someone other than myself?" None seemed to have ever had that introspective .oment to question their motives as they left a razed earth behind them.

If you weren't a boomer in power or actively working to get all gains for yourself, why are you lumping yourself on their side? If you protested and fought against them, great. No one said there wasn't an opposing force. Just that the rotten boomers prevailed. You don't need to take offense.

So yeah, "not all boomers" but there were one too many who were openly allowed to do whatever they wanted at the detriment of your grandkids. They are the ones who stole all opportunities for your children and their grandchildren to succeed like you did. To ignore that fact is taking the side of the rotten boomers. Numerous studies have been done over the last 3 decades that prove the boomers ruined the American Dream for their own greed. It's been a well researched fact.

If you aren't ignoring the facts, and you tried to stop the rotten ones, obviously, you are not the topic on discussion and don't need to place yourself anomg those who actively destroyed all opportunities for their own benefit. You can count yourself among the good boomers and admit those that weren't shouldn't have been given the power they had.

It's literally that easy. Apply what applies to you and walk away from the rest.

Did you misspell Libertarians and isolationists when you said "bommers"?

@Northwest I'm sure we can sprinkle them in there too.
Yep, this is the boomer generation in a nutshell:
