I know I'm posting a lot but what does everyone think of traditional gender roles and are they still relevant to society?

Only if you want a functioning society.

@hippyjoe1955 what do you mean by that?

@AlwaysCurious Society is always changing. It can change for the better or the worse. When traditional gender roles are in place the society improves. When that is abandoned the society degenerates into chaos. My great grandparents married young. They moved to the wild west of North Dakota and wrestled a farm out of native prairie. They raised 7 children and saw tremendous changes in their society as the old ox cart they used to move west was replaced with trains then cars. Today's young adults are still living in mommy and daddy's basement. Too educated to find a job they live a life of nihilism. There is nothing to do. No purpose in life. No reason for being. Nothing that they can hold on to and move forward. The only thing they do is destroy what their parents, grandparents, great grandparents worked so long and hard for. Thus comes the decay we see every day. Drug addiction is rampant. Homelessness is everywhere. There is no long term lasting relationship. Children are either aborted or born bastards. Fatherlessness leads to increased crime and violence.

@hippyjoe1955 which has absolutely nothing to do with gender roles. You think society is gonna collapse cause the husband does the cooking and washes dishes?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@basilfawlty89 Actually it does. The fact that we question our nature is indicative of a wastrel society.

@SW-User yeah I am. Good to see you back on!

@hippyjoe1955 actually it fucking doesn't. Our "natures" are literally to fuck, forage, gather, hunt, find shelter, protect ourselves and sleep. All the rest are social constructs we developed due to material realities where it was needed. The only reason why men became the head of the household was because of private property laws. There matriarchal societies. What makes you think your paternalistic society is superior?
