I Am Fascinated By Human Behavior

I went to a fast food restaurant a while back to get some dinner. After placing my order, I drove up to the pick-up window and handed the fellow at the register a twenty dollar bill. This was more than enough to cover the cost of the food. The employee took the money and worked the register for a second, and then, out of the blue, he suddenly recoiled in horror at something. It was really bizarre. He was visibly shaken, as if he had just seen something extremely scary, and he made no moves to hand over the change I was owed. Another worker, having observed this, came over to the register and made a quick assessment of the situation. After a few moments, she apologized for her co-worker (who had slinked away) and calmly handed me six dollars and sixty six cents in change.
