When I read this question - the one person who came to my mind is a colleague at work. Year after year after year and it puzzles me how she has so many friends. I guess that's where the "deception" part comes in. People don't see her for who she really is.

@Hanginginthere One hard truth I'm still learning is you DO NOT have friends at work. Irrespective of whether you enjoy their company or not, they are not friends
