What do you think when you drive through a student town...

..and see all the multicoloured hair and also many of them have tattoos too?

At the student town which I drive through often, it's enough to make one quite despondent for the prospects of the next generation.

The piercings as well

Every generation has to find a way to flick the middle finger at the older generations. I call it lateral progress in that it's more likely to move us sideways rather than forward. It's more noticeable in college towns where 18 and 19 year olds recently shed their parents and with a credit card in their back pockets are in a hurry to catch up with 20 and 21 year olds.

Much of it is harmless and my best advice is to look through it and let karma find a way to upright what may be sideways.
