Does experience matter more than theories or beliefs?

There's a rickety bridge you need to cross, are you going to believe:

a) the person who tells you that logically the structure looks strong,

b) the person who believes it
Is strong,

c) the person who just walked across it and knows it is strong.

Yes, but a combination is even better.

Not more maybe but if you don’t test your beliefs and theories with some experience how will you know if they are even slightly correct?
