I Am Fascinated By Human Behavior

One day a teenage student walked up to Mozart and asked him for advice on becoming a composer of symphonies.

"See here", said Mozart. "This is not a simple thing. First you must learn to play several instruments, take courses in counterpoint and theory, do some conducting and only then start to compose songs and chamber music. Only after you have mastered all of those things should you try symphonies."

"But Herr Mozart", the youth emphatically replied, "You began composing symphonies at the age of eight having done none of those things."

Mozart looked sternly at the student and said, "Certainly, but then I never felt the need to ask anyone's advice."

Very wise answer because it is the same with sex. Some would keep asking how to do it and waste years learning, when others just go for it and start enjoying from an early age.

I was thinking that as I read this--he was a gifted child genius who composed before being told much at all!! Taught himself the violin at age 7...

Basic, but full of wisdom.

Irish - I've only just recently discovered you here on SW.
You are smart, witty and right minded.
I am really happy to have met you - sorta, a little, - well more like crossed paths - but you get it.

I love the Mozart story.

@SW-User If you're a natural then you just do it. No need to ask how or ask for permission.
