I forgot all about this. 馃憖[image deleted]

Abraham Maslow鈥檚 Theory of human motivation. I just don鈥檛 think it was to be in order to be successful though. 馃憖

It does have to be in order
MethDozerM
@SW-User no it doesn't. Not according to Maslow. He fully admitted that it is fluid and not as vertical as presented.

If you buy into it that is.

@MethDozer we were taught in psychology that the hierarchy had to be in order, like if certain needs aren't met you can't meet any needs beyond that. Like you can't have self esteem if you don't feel safe.
Although we may be both right and it's a mixture of the two
MethDozerM
@SW-User But it is not even a valid or supported theory and was never put it in a pyramid or any such structure by Maslow. Not that psychology in general has much science behind it but Maslow had nearly none and none has been able to be found. The whole concept of self actualization doesn't even really have demonstrable validity. There is zero evidence it exist at a universal human level.

@SW-User You most certainly can ha e self esteem if you don't feel safe. Prisoners prove this.

@MethDozer our teacher used the movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks as a way to explain the pyramid to us, I haven't taken any college courses in psychology yet so I'm not an expert either
