People in Canada ! There is a regular scam going on. I have had 4 phone calls today of Revenue Canada threatening to sue you, call your attorney and what not within 24 hours unless you pay up.
We all just filed our taxes and all that. BE ASSURED that Revenue CANADA does NEVER send canned phoned calls. You all got your " results" in writing.
DO NOT FALL for those fakes. Be careful though. Someone might come around demanding money by whatever means.

THIS IS SCAM AND FRAUD. AND SOME PEOPLE STILL FALL FOR IT. REVENUE CANADA DOES NOT AND I REPEAT DOES NOT SEND THREATENING PHONE CALLS. IT IS ALL IN WRITING.

I'll go one further. Below I said that I'd cancelled my landline phone, and I just keep my internet access. Yesterday, some telemarketing company called me on my mobile while I was abroad in Barcelona -- I get to pay for roaming charges and the lost time. So I put a free white-list/black-list phone filter on my mobile. Now only my friends and recognized companies can call me. Also with respect to the above idea of people just coming in the door to check out what you have in your apartment: I emphatically agree with Voyelle that we should simply refuse to let anyone in the door who is not pre-announced. Everything else is a simple invasion of your privacy. It is a sad testimony of having to defend oneself like a fortress, but the defense has to meet the aggression. You're aggressed more, you defend more, tant pis!
