I Believe In Equal Rights

A few weeks ago a police officer was shot and killed just a few blocks from here. He had observed a hit-and-run, intercepted the fleeing driver and was shot as he approached. While the story received local coverage by the local media, it went basically unnoticed by the national media.

I have as much sympathy for the police as I have for any victim of a senseless act of violence, regardless of color.

It's true, it's all true
